Stigma and discrimination can occur when people associate an infectious disease, such as COVID-19, with a population or nationality, even though not everyone in that population or from that region is infected or at risk for the disease. Stigma hurts everyone by creating fear or anger towards ordinary people instead of the disease that is causing the problem.
Per the message from President Samia Yaqub. “The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff are paramount. I want to ensure that any stigma towards people of Asian descent will not be tolerated. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion; we welcome and support all students. Please refer to our non-discrimination statement on our webpage here: airllevant.com/titleix.”
If you face discrimination please let Rachel Wood know and she can refer you to further resources.
New immigration information will be updated on our website so please continue to check back for updates.
